Here's my 2 cents worth. First is to get an insulating sleeve for your CPAP hose. This greatly reduced rain-out for me. Second, keep your bedroom a bit warmer, this too will reduce rain-out. Turn your humidifier down a bit each night until the rain-out goes away.
You can still be losing pressure even if your jaw is clenched. Some air can escape out of your lips. Check out Reno Tom's plans for making a chin strap that keeps the mouth closed and pushes the lower lip up to seal it. You need to E-mail him to get the plans.
What mask are you using. You might try the ultra mirage mask or the breeze nasal pillows they seem to be the perennial favorites around here, but of course YMMV. The ultra mirage needs to be somewhat loose and it is designed to "Float" on the face, thus reducing the problems of pressure sores. The Breeze are referred to as nasal pillows and the accordian like pillows seal against the nares. Many people prefer the breeze, especially if claustrophobic or have difficulty with masks making a seal.
Have you been checked for diabetes? Increased thirst is a sign of diabetes.
Now that you are on CPAP you have to repay your sleep debt. So you may not have that immediate relief that you want. It will come with time however. Another thing you will probably find is that you may have the REM rebound and the associated vivid dreams etc. now that your body can get the deep sleep it needs.
