Just about everyone has problems getting used to CPAP at first. Almost everyone who is determined to succeed eventually overcomes these problems and learns to sleep "comfortably" with it. It is weird to have a mask strapped to your face when you are sleeping, but you can get used to it. There are a variety of masks of different types. Some are more comfortable than others. All have to be tweaked to get them to seal properly and comfortably. Tell us what mask you are using and specifically what your discomfort is, and surely someone on the forum will have specific tips for you to try to get it to work better.

It sounds like you have a touch of claustrophobia in your mask. I have not had this, but many others on the forum have experienced and overcome it. I am sure some of them will follow up this post with tips for dealing with it.
