At first,I went through the same feelings you describe here. But let me tell you that I am now on my 8th week of CPAP, and am experiencing the best sleep I have had in ten years. Yesterday, I had a follow up appointment with my sleep doctor and I thanked him for giving me my life back.
The time it takes to get comfortable with your CPAP varies from person to person. I had the claustrophobia feelings too, so I switched to the Breeze nasal pillows. Problem solved. Go to the search engine here and look up breeze nasal pillows for tons of information. Also, this forum has been a godsend to me with the greatest people sharing their experiences and knowledge. Read up and you will know you are not alone in this.
