Posted by Puzzled on October 05, 2001 at 16:44:31:I have been using cpap since August 31th, having a very difficult time adjusting. My pressure is 12 and I am using a Mirage nasal mask. I wake up during the middle of the night but never remember taking off my mask, cursing at my husband, or pulling the machine off the table, once even pulling the lamp on to my bed! I am totally unaware of what I'm doing until I face a very tired, frazzled spouse in the morning. I have never done anything like this before and am wondering if anyone else out there has experienced the same thing? After 18 days with hardly any sleep I finally starting to get periodic bouts of sleep, but still find myself exhausted during the day. I am constantly taking off my mask, turning off my machine without ever remembering doing it. I finally tied ribbon to the straps and double knotted under my chin only to find I cut the ribbon off with scissors in my sleep! So I hid the scissors and still managed to get it off! Help! Any suggestions would be great, my doctor wasn't sure what to do with me, except suggest a followup in 6 weeks. Thanks!
