I spoke yesterday with a nurse practitioner while having pre-op blood work done at the local hospital, and my sleep apnea came up. She tells me that the latest findings are that sleep apnea has significant connection with heart disease, including congestive heart failure, hypertension, and actual heart attacks.
She's trying to get her husband to use his CPAP more often. I use mine every night, by the way. I have vascular disease (atherosclerosis -- the reason for my operation) and want to do everything I can not to die at 66 like my father did. Have not missed in three years except for one night in the emergency room where they wouldn't let me plug it in and 5 nights after a nose operation.
This will be my fifth vascular procedure. Sixth if you count the time the anesthesia didn't work right and they called off the operation. Believe me, you don't want to do this. What's your problem? What makes you use those excuses? Maybe someone can help you here.
