CPAP by train

Posted by Rob (Australia) on October 06, 2001 at 18:59:22:

Hello

I am just back home from a trip across Australia by train (the Indian Pacific). The full trip takes three days. I was on it for two days/nights as my journey was a little shorter.

I used my CPAP at night in my compartment and can report no serious difficulty. I didn't bring an electric extension cable so had to sleep with my head at the power plug end of the bed - opposite to how the bed was made up. A brochure on the train suggested one should use a surge protector for computers. This seems a good idea. So next time, I will pack both an extension cable and a surge protector. Finding a place to sit the CPAP was a momentary challenge, but soon overcome. In the foldout sink, with tap firmly turned off.

All up. No problems. Had a great trip. Slept well. Clickety clack, clickey clack, clickety clack.

Rob
