I've never pulled the machine off the table, but from what I've seen and heard, I think almost everyone has gone through a stage where they would take their mask off without knowing it. It seems to pass with persistance. I think it took me about 3 months to adapt to the mask.

A trick I use when I travel might be helpful. I pull the drawer out of the nightstand, put it on top of the nightstand and put my machine and humidifier inside. You might want to go the extra step to secure the drawer (i.e., tie it down). I don't like to take the entire base to my humidifer with me when I'm only going to be gone for a night or two, and this is a way to keep my humidifier upright. Since you'd have to raise the machine up first to get it out of the drawer - it might solve your problem. Good luck!
