Medic*Alert Bracelet for OSA??

Posted by Jules on October 12, 2001 at 15:36:23:

I've never asked my sleep specialist this question because I rarely see them, so I will throw it out to the forum. We know how OSA works, so what happens if you are in an accident for example and are knocked unconscious? Will the airway collapse unless you wake up? If it does collapse, then would it be a good idea to have a medic alert bracelet that states OSA? I mean, if I would be in a car accident and have a head injury that rendered me unconscious for a long period of time, how could my brain force itself to even wake up just enough to start breathing again?
