Sounds like the home health care company unloaded some old stuff they had lying around and didn't even give you the manuals or directions for it.
Doesn't this "giant bra cup" that you describe have a manufacturer's lable on it?
If the mask and tubing 'fit' is there a leak that is undetected. Run your hand over the tubing and see if you can feel any leaks.
