Yep we all seem to have these "liitle" challenges to conquer. I too have a beard and was a lifetime mouthbreather who thought that I could "never" use a nasal mask. Guess what, I was able to use it (with all the problems of course) right from the start. Keeping the tongue in place is hard at first and some seem to never get the hang of it, but if your fortunate, and perservere it works well. I still have occasional blowouts but not as frequent. I started by consciously clamping my mouth shut(really hard for me even during the day according to my wife!!)and then it got easier and I seldom even notice the stress that it used to cause in my jaw. I use the Ultra Mirage nasal and it works well for me but I still think they should design a "purge " type device to allow us to clear the air out of the system for these times and when you have to swallow. I will write them again as I got no satisfactory answer last time.
Good Luck.
