cpap vs bipap followup

Posted by rainbowlady on October 19, 2001 at 20:58:34:

Thanks for all the help everybody. My machine is a sullivan vpap - I'm learning to use the ramp, the vibration is settling down and it is getting easier to breathe with. It still tries to force my breathing pattern some, but seems to let me control it after awhile. as for the swivel thing, I had an adams circuit before, and this is still supposed to be, it just doesn't have the swivel thing on it. It is very rigid. If I turn over the whole thing moves off my face and wakes me up. I am going to call ins. co. and see what I can do to get a heated humidifier and get them to go ahead and buy the machine now instead of making me pay 20% for 6 months. Seems like big waste of money to me. I'm gunna keep it since I've been on cpap for 6 years already, this is gunna be a lifelong love/hate relationship!
Again, thanks everybody.
