Posted by Chips on October 30, 2001 at 11:47:21:The chore of cleaning all the equipment, especially since I got a humidifier, is a bit time consuming. It needs to be done each week as we all know. I have been using CPAP since the beginning of March '01 and at that time purchased a cheap dish pan to soak the hose in vinegar mixture. I wasn't please with the mixture getting into the middle of the hose so I would suck it up to get it through.(often getting an early morning mouthful of vinegar/water, yuck) Then I came up with this idea and it actually works. I put the hoses (now there are 2) in a gallon size plastic zip lock bag, zip it almost closed, pour in the vinegar and fill it with hot water, let the rest of the air out and zip it closed. The whole hose now soaks in the vinegar mixture the whole time, with virtually no air pockets. Try it.
