Sandy:

I am not recommending that others take up a casein and/or gluten free diet.

Today I received some mail about casein and gluten free diets. According to the folder, incomplete breakdown of the proteins in dairy, wheat, oats, barley, rye and spelt result in small peptide chains which eventually end up in the brain as casomorphines and glutomorphines. It is these morphines that result in the inability of some autistic patients to feel pain. To me this relates to ‘numb feet’.

Consider the morhines mentioned above. The morphines are used ot reduce pain, but they also cause muscles to relax. If the muscles which maintain the airway relax the airway is more likely to collapse, at least in my opinion.
