Got my CPAP -

Posted by Dareesa on November 13, 2001 at 05:35:47:

I got my CPAP machine yesterday... took me all day to get the insurance company and a PPO provider that I could use and then had to pretty much bully them into getting to me yesterday ... but I did it!
I was really looking forward to the nite... but alas... the nite was pretty trying. I could not get to a good enough sleep level.. I probably had woken up 8-10 times and it was only 2ish.. I thought that most of the nite has passed when I looked at the clock and it wasn't even half gone. I struggled through until about 4 am.. when I called the nite therapist at the hospital. He was the one who admin'd my sleep study. I was set the same as I had been at the hospital but I keep feeling like I was pulling so hard to get air when I breathed thru my nose. When I breathed thru my mouth it got so dry and my nose felt like it was swelling or something.
I KNOW that this is not going to be an over nite wonder cure.. I am willing to keep trying. The bad part is I can't just take 2 weeks off and try to get adjusted to this. I have to leave this am to go to a meeting until thursday nite, BUT I am taking my buddy with me and I will keep trying.
I am using a tranquility machine and a golden seal nose piece.
Pray for me ok?
Hanging in there!
