Saw ENT Dr.

Posted by dorislue on November 14, 2001 at 03:01:22:

I was diagnosed about 3 years ago with SA. The lung specialist then said it was severe and that surgery wouldn't help. I was put on a CPAP. My insurance changed and I had to turn in CPAP and have another sleep study. This time it showed mild, now I know it was because I was sleeping with my toothguard. The tech knew I was and so I thought it wouldn' make any difference. I have now seen an ENT and he wants to do surgery. Not!!!! Tonsils and all and I'm an adult and know how that goes. I probably need to lose about 10 or 15 lbs., easier said than done, and I was wondering if any of you knew if that would make a difference and stop my apnea. My new insurance is ending at the end of the year and I will no longer have any so can't pursue another sleep clinic or CPAP. Any input would be appreciated.
