I have not slept an hour without CPAP in over 18 months since I got the machine. Yes, it really works, and yes I can sleep with the mask on. Most nights, it's not even a problem. Before CPAP I had to get up 4-5 times per night to use the bathroom. Now, it is once or not at all. I sometimes wake up without an alarm clock. I wake up refreshed most mornings and do not experience as much sleepiness and fatigue during the day. For me, it works and is a life saver. Also, there are some masks that would allow you to read and watch t.v. I prefer to read and watch t.v. without the mask and just strap it on when I am ready to go to sleep.
