They were called vestibular exercises, if I recall correctly. One of them involved starting in a sitting position and then laying down on the right side and staying in that position until the dizziness passed. You repeat the exercise until you can do it without getting dizzy. Then you repeat this one on the left side. Another was to sit up straight and lean your head back to stare at the ceiling. Again, hold the position until the dizziness passes and repeat until you can do it without it making you dizzy. These were repeated twice a day for two weeks and they really do help the roaring and the dizziness.
The doctor also gave me some kind of drops to help keep me from getting nauseated when I did these, but said that Dramamine would work also. Feel free to e-mail me directly if you want more info. I will try to find my copies of the exercises or see if they are on a website for my doc.
