I agree with your comments on a HMO. I made a mistake in my paperwork and this year I was on an HMO plan. I will be back on a non-HMO plan this January.

I feel real sorry for those in HMOs. I did have a thought though. We call medical doctors "Doctor" because of the respect we have for doctors.

However, I don't think I am obligated to call an HMO doctor, "Doctor" anymore than I would call a musicologist with a Ph.D. "Doctor."

Back to the original topic, I think with the information I am gaining, I will be able to write a letter which will be of use, without a lawyer.
