Although your sleep architecture for your first night might not be as bad as it could be, there are several items that are of concern. First of all, eventhough you have few apneas, you have many hypopneas and these can be just as bad as apneas. Also, your O2 desaturation was below 90% so it is also an item of concern. Left untreated, this OSA can cause or aggravate other conditions. Many people on this forum will tell you they wish they had been treated earlier. Diabetes, heart conditions and strokes are just a few of the problems that are possible.
You obviously had an awful night with CPAP. You should have seen stages 3,4, and REM. In fact, I would be concerned that the titration was not correct since you did not get into these stages as this is when most of the obstruction problem occurs.
It might benefit you to get used to using CPAP for a few weeks and then get another titration.
Some people use ambien with their sleep study (with doctor's permission). You might want to ask about this when you have your next study.
Keep us posted.
