KC-Mark, I too have an awful time with cpap and congestion. I haven't gone to bipap yet, but it might be down the road. I'm trying the TAP=Thornton Adjustable Positioner dental device. I'll know the first couple of weeks into January if it is working. I just got it 2 days ago. Anyway, do you have an ENT who specializes in sleep apnea and allergies? I found a group in Pittsburgh, Pa. They did what they call a Coblation on the turbinates in my nose. It's amazing!!! I haven't been able to breathe like this ever!! It's a 20 to 30 minute in their office procedure. I had very little pain, and hardly any congestion afterwards. They told me to use Afrin for no more than 5 nights. I never had to use it once. It does take 4 to 8 weeks for it to heal inside the nose. No pain or anything. You would have follow up visits where they scope your nose to check the healing process. Search Coblation on the internet. If you have any questions, let me know. I also go to an Allergist. I get shots every other week. You need to have your doctors working together to help your apnea. I found my ENT's to be the most helpful so far. One specializes in nose and allergy. The other specializes in sleep apnea and throat problems. My sleep doctor actually referred me to them. They are trying to help my nose, and they sent me to the dentist who specializes in sleep apnea devices. I know how frustrating it can be. I was diagnosed in July of this year, and still have yet to sleep. I feel I'm going in the right direction, but it seems like it's taking forever! Hang in there! shottzy
