I've never seen one or used one, but the only problem I can see with the F&P humidifier that samples the air is that it works by simply turning down the heat in the humidifier when rainout is about to occur. This would mean that in a cold room the humidity output of the humidifier would be generally lower.

Personally, I'd think that a heated hose would be more efficient.
