I thought a trach tube was cut through the throat. I think what is suggested here is a tube that goes into the mouth and down the throat without cutting into anything.

It would be good for such a tube to be like a somewhat rigid mesh, so throat moisture could humidify the air as it goes through. Also, if the end of the tube got blocked, air could pass through the sides.
