The air to the lungs needs to be about 98.6 deg and 100% humidity. Cool, humid air and warm, dry air both need the body to adjust them. I think that both are about as hard for the body. The first needs to be warmed, but that drops the humidity, so it also needs more humidity as it warms. The second needs humidity, but the body gets cooled when its moisture evaporates.

In the past some people have suggested using baby wipes warmers, but there was some hazzard, so that was discouraged.
