You will find this useful. It a U.S. to U.K. disctionary. Those who speak English in Europe may be using many U.K. terms, so keep in handy. It was in a neat spread sheet format, but I may get messed up when I paste it here. I think if you paste it into a spreadsheet, that will fix it.

U.S. U.K. Comments
Apnea Apnoea Spelling difference only.
Distilled Water Battery Water
Electric Outlet or Socket Power Point
Extension Cord Extension Lead
Grounded Earthed As regards electricity.
Power Cord Power Lead
