Posted by Lawrence on January 01, 2002 at 17:27:23:Just returned from Florida where I was hospitalized and put on cortisone (prednosone) after getting inhalation therapy and intravenous steroids for my asthma which was exacerbated by sinus congestion. The doctor in the ER who happened to be a pulmonary specialist told me he does not understand how I could tolerate CPAP with my sinus problems. The dilema I have he said is that living without CPAP is a SLOW DEATH and living with it is making my life unbearable with my chronic sinus problem. I believe that one day there will be studies done telling people not to use a nose mask which for 8 hours a day sends air (humidified or not) into the nasal passages because it can cause serious sinus problems as it has done to me.
The doctor did not have a solution and I have NO LIFE. Does anyone out there have a solution other then having a hole put into my trachea? Please help me as I cannot have an operation to reduce the fatty tissue in my throat as I am also a bleeder. HELP Please
