I agree with John Len that you would gain much by reading through the forums and doing searches on specific topics. Here are some comments that might help direct your search for info.

I would think that the extra humidity would help as it is usually prescribed for many respiratory problems such as yours. You can always ask your doctor if you are unsure about what to do. I have had a couple viruses over the last year and have used my CPAP right through them. If anything, better sleep means my body can fight off the bugs a little better.

The moisture in the mask is usually referred to as "rainout" and is just condensation. It will not cause any problems, other than being uncomfortable and maybe causing a rash (chapping)under the mask. I have the Breeze and occasionally get a noseful but have solved much of the problem by wrapping the hose with fleece to insulate it. Look for other ideas in your search.

Causes for dry mouth can include mouth breathing and low humidity, among other things.
