Severe OSA is solidly linked to loss of memory function. This is becuase in serious cases the loss of O2 to the brain causes brain cells to die during periods of significant blood O2 Desaturation.

Once effective treatment starts a person regains some to most of the short term memory functions, but may never regain longterm memory loss. Certain memory exercises also help (ie: training yourself to remember).
