While I started to see some improvement immediately, it has taken others longer.

You don't say how long you have been using CPAP. Have you been using it since you were diagnosed about a month ago, or did you just start a week ago? Are you having any other problems (ie. mask leaks, mask removals, etc.)? Are you also using a heated humidifier?

If you have been using the CPAP the entire month, have a heated humidifier and are having no other problems, maybe it is time to check back in with your doctor. For that matter, if you don't have a heated humidifier, you should also contact your doctor and have him prescribe one - it has made a huge difference for a lot of people on this forum.
