Good work sleepysandy,

56 yrs
6'2" 205 lbs.
runner for over 30 yrs
since onset of problems with sleep
2 incidents of Pulmonary embolism, both acute, relsuting in life-long coumadin therapy. First incident is likely plane flight related deep vein thrombosis, second is not known
My weight has gradually increased and endurance decreased. Speed is way down and running is very difficult. I cannot increase my endurance. In the last year I have had two golf elbows (one for about two years actually), strained plantar fascia, strained achilles tendon and something in my foot (hard to define because of numbness from a lower back/disc problem). I do not run excessively - 3 miles but I have not had nagging injuries like this before. I think the chicken and egg thing is like this. You gain weight etc. along with the problem of fatigue, and know you should exercise but it is very difficult because you are so tired. I guess I think exercise is very good, but not an answer to the problem. I use it as a barometer of how I feel. It was only my inability to run that led Dr's to finding the pulmonary emobli. As with this sleep disorder, it wasn't easilty diagnosed. Did the PE and Sleep problem have a connection? Who knows. I've flown much in my life, but only had the PE once.
