lawrence
Mine is a humidaire heated humifier set at 4.5, I use distill water that i pick for 58 cents a gallon from walmart but you can boil the water, stay away from non heated humidifier I have one(oasis) but it is useless ! i also take allergy shots for dust mites i would certainly do something about cats and dogs. I would definately try a nasal rinse you can make your own salt solution, but mind you, you need to use either distill water or boiled water, ever since i have started irrigating my nose I have practically stopped using nasonex and other sprays .
good luck, if i can be of any help let me know.
