I'm a newbie (only 4 months but I can tell you that I can sleep with mask etc at night without a problem. Occasionally I've had to adjust mask from leaks, etc but no more than getting used to sleeping with cold or something. Advice on getting a sleep med is good but you may find that you can sleep with the cpap. Good luck.
