My schedule has also slacked off since the beginning, but have had no problems. I take mine apart for a vinegar/water soak about once a month with the hoses and humidifier pan. Other than that, I hold the whole mask under running water, squirt some dish soap on the cushion, rub with the palm of my hand and rinse well under running water, daily. Then, I shake it off and set on the sink to dry for the day.
