It took me 3 years to find OSA was my problem?

Posted by NewinNYC on January 12, 2002 at 08:34:19:

I've been complaining about fatigue for 3 years and my Doctor wouldn't take me seriously. He did a bunch of blood tests, and an O2 saturation test, then gave me a script for Prozac. Naturally, it didn't work. I saw a brochure on OSA in his office and mentioned it to him. He gave me a look, then told me to double up my dose Prozac. Finally, I switched doctors and begged for a sleep test. The results came back as mild OSA and he said "don't bother treating it as everybody has a little OSA and we live with it." Is this an accurate statement? What should I do to get treatment? Why shouldn't I get the chance to see if this will reduce my fatigue? Am I wrong here?
