The main advantage of the bipap over the cpap is the cpap puts out a constant pressure where as the bipap puts out the prescribed pressure when you breath in but a lower pressure when breath out so that you are not trying to breath out against a hurricane. The downside of a bipap is the extra cost that insurance co.s usually balk at paying.Better yet would be an autopap,I could not use a cpap so i went to a bipap some years ago.A humitifier is a must.I own and use both a passave humitifier and a heated humitifier.Your best bet is to put cpap/bipap into the search box on the different forums and start reading. Do the same for auto pap ,masks etc.You will get a ton of information on the various machines and other essental needed equipment such as the mentioned masks and humitifiers.AND many tips on dealing with them all.
