Yes, the Autoset Ta nd 418P whouls be pretty similar as both are flow limitation machines, however I did find that the 418P seemed to work better for me than did the autoset T, this may be largely due to my having a F&P humidifier rather tan the resmed humidifier, as when I also rented a resmed humidifier the autoset T got closer ot the 418P.

My experience of the LT and 418P is the opposite of that described above, for me (and I tried the LT first) the LT was nicer thanstraight CPPA, but still giving me quite a few aspneas and hypopneas and pressure jumping all over the palace. wheras the 418P got my count VERY low (even taking into accoutn the differnet hypopnea definintion)

In fact yesterday I finally ended my AutoCPAP trialling and decided to just buy the 418P without waiting any longer to try the new resmed spirit, as I expect it to work fairly similarly to the autoset T, and while I had hopes it would sork fine iwth my F&P humidifier, don;t think in the end that it will be any better than the 418P, aas I aslo want to try the breeze pillows etc I thought I would go for the P.

So all this does show that thing with autoPAPA is our own individual breathing problem.

One Qn for the original poster, did you have the hypopnea trigger turned on on your 418P? By default this trigger is usually OFFD, turning it ON will make the 418P much closer in triggers to the LT, plus adding the flow limitation trigger of the T.

Cheers
