Posted by Goodgal on January 21, 2002 at 16:32:41:Greetings to all. i'll try to make this short.. I know we are all tired!
My husband is 35. He is not overweight. He was diagnosed with Mild sleep apnea, his blood oxegen I think went to 91? He woke like close to 100 times per night.. and it appeared he was not really entering a deep sleep
To make a long story short, this all started with an abnormal blood workup. for say the past year or so, his HGB (hemoglobin) was at 17.4 (norm 13.9-16.9) and his HCT was 49.4 (norm 40.4-49.3) He is currently seeing a Hemotologist to follow up on certain bone marrow disorders(cancers) this is my last hope that this might be caused by sleep apnea. It appears there may be a link with sleep apnea and higher red blood cells.. the hemotologist is hoping this is the case.
To make a long story short he is on the CPAP now, and I am just wondering is ANYONE else out there who has had this type of problem with sleep apena? high hemoglobin And if so has it corrected itself with cpap machine.???
Thank you a very numb and tired Wife!!!
