The padding can be simply glued back on if it's still in one piece. That's what I did with mine. I also replaced the "outrigger" padding on the top of the headgear with a Dr. Scholl's heel pad made to put in your shoe. I bought it in the drugstore. It's grey foam-like material and has a sticky back. I cut it to fit and stuck it on and it has not budged or deteriorated for several months now. Seems better than the original material. Quite strong and the sticky backing is very good.
