I'm just a bit north in central Oklahoma. Your situation/dilemma sounds very much like mine was. Am in the computer software business, so also wanted to track my apnea treatment. Also did a ton of reseach along the way. The folks on this forum are great!

After much research I decided I wanted to deal with a DME that was competent. I simply wrote a letter to my primary doctor (before he got the report back from the sleep lab and the sleep Dr. who interpreted the study), and said I'd rather deal with a compentent web-based DME than a local. Asked him to give me the prescription, and mentioned my preferences on what I would like to be on the prescription (if he had no objection -- he's the doctor). I listed an auto CPAP, heated humidifier, etc. Stated I wanted to be able to record my apneas, etc. as the main reason for auto CPAP.

Got a prescription with exactly what I had asked for. Ordered AutoAdjust LT from CPAP Man in sleep mall, and have been very happy with support. (I have bugged him with a lot of questions since).

Still need to get the insurance form to submit my claim. Hopefully that will go well.

Tonight is night number 7. I'm feeling GREAT.
