The sleep lab I went to required the lab techs to wake the patient up at 6 am to get them ready to leave. So, the facts are that if there is to be a sleep test the patient must go to sleep quite some time before 6 am; this has nothing to do with the sleep tech trying to rush the patient - it is simply a matter of time - a patient can't stay up all night and then expect to sleep way into the morning to succeed at a sleep test. I am very much a night owl; I go to sleep between 3 and 5 am. If had followed my normal sleep hours I would not have succeeded in a sleep test. That is why I made sure I was VERY tired when I went in for my sleep test, took my own pillow etc, and took an Ambian (that they gave me). In order to succeed at a sleep test I had to 'bend' to their hours, as they certainly could not 'bend' to mine. I don't see this as a matter of judgement or attitude, but simply a fact of life.
