If the tech's attitude was reported as from a doctor how many would have suggested changing doctors?
I for one woiuld have.

In my opinion, the tech was not ready for someone who did not fit the expected pattern. Perhaps repeat business was 'built in' (No other sleep labs available) so there was no concern about the patient.

While technically the tech was correct, it wasn't right.
