Hi Tom. I live in Ft Lauderdale, and only use the cold passover humidifier. With the humidity the way it is down here, this is just perfect for me. I had tried heated humidification by placing my passover humidifier on a heating pad, and the air was too "thick" for me. The only time I would even consider using the heated version is when we get that rare occasion when the temperature goes into the 30's with little or no humidity.
