Is the relative humidity low in your room? For example air conditioning removes water from the air. Do you live in an area where the weather is frequently very low humidity? You can buy thermometers with humidity devices fairly inexpensively. If the humidity is low, say below 25%, that may be the cause of the high water usage. I have a F&P heated humidifier and if the relative humidity is low, I use a little more than half the amount in the tank.
