Obviously, his body has changed over time. The passover humidifier is no longer providing enough humidity for his needs. Going through all the steps and effort to heat a passover humidifier will provide some help, but will not work any way near as well as a heated humidifier and is a lot more trouble. I messed around with heating a passover for a year before I changed to a heated humidifier. It's time to toss the passover unit and get a heated humidifier. Get him one as a belated Valentine present. Once he tries it out, he'll love you for it.
