I wear a cotton head sock to protect my skin and scalp from the straps (A cut up T shirt with a safty pin in the back - in a pinch when traveling where I have not packed well - I have even used a clean pair of underware ;) The things we have to do to make this work....
The mask itself usually does not cause problems. However, it helps if you clean your face with a cleansing gell, then use a sensitive skin moisterizer on the skin. You have to be carefull that the products you use do not rapidely destroy the mask cushion (many do). I use Artistry Delicate Care Calming Moisturiser each night without adversely affecting the life of the mask (the cleansing gell needs to be matched to your skin type).
If this does not work - then nasal pillow may be your best shot. Someone has posted in past forums that they use a layer of cotton between the nasal pillow and their nose.
Hope this helps.
