This suffocating feeling could be from inadeuate CPAP pressure. Also, if you have a ramp, you may want to disable it.

My sleep doc recommends retitration at six to eight weeks. At that time my Rx was raised from 11 cmH2O to 13 cmH2O. In November of 2001, I was raised from 13 to 15.

Retiration is also recommended after the first year, and every 18 to 24 months thereafter. More frequently if you're haing problems.
