Posted by Confused Awakener on March 11, 2002 at 03:27:49:How come I keep taking off my nasal mask, about four hours in to sleep? At least I wake up four hours into sleep and find it off my face; not sure when I actually remove it. I have not had this problem the whole time, but have noticed it happeneing even nightly now, for about a month. Sometimes I wake up at say 3 in the am with the mask on, and then I consciously remove it, as for some reason, at that time it feels restrictive (I feel I would not be able to fall asleep again with it on, for some reason). So, it is OK falling asleep origianlly; it does not keep me up at first. Only after avbout 4 hours I wake up to find it off. What in hell does this mean, that my body is rejecting it in some sense, and how come? What does it mean that it is almost like clock-work; I wake up at that early morning hour, for no other reason. I do not notice myself gasping or anything like that. I have an awakening, but it is not anxious or anything. Can anyone help me with this? Have sleep study tonight, by the way.
