New machine to help with this is RinoFlow. It directs a mist or spray up the nostrils and into the sinus cavities. The resultant drainage flows down into the device into a seperate chamber as not to contaminate the saline. They say if you make your own saline to use non-iodized salt and distilled water (half teaspoon to eight ounces of water). Will keep in the 'fridge' for up to five days.
