Elena:

Glad to here that you are doing well with the AutoAdjust LT. The noise thing is a personal reaction. Different people consider different things noisy. The AutoAdjust LT is much quiter than many of the standard CPAPs on the market for the same pressure, but several of the newer machines (CPAP and AutoCPAP) are quiter yet.

Concerning your difficulties with setting up a Mac computer. Unfortunately, none of the CPAP manufacturers have developed (or are even considering) a Mac version.

Thus, you are left with emulation programs and windows cards.

In most cases these work well, and as you found out having someone who is computer savy makes a lot of difference.

There is however a cheep fix for those who cannot make it work. Just buy a used older Windows based computer (with software) from someone (check the classified adds in the paper). All the programs will run on Windows 98 (and many of them will run on Windows 95). Computer speed and memory are not a problem either.

I do realize that the windows software does not work as well or run as smoothly as the Mac, but it will work well enough that you will not notice.

$50 to $100 should give you all the computer someone needs for this application (and you may even find someone who will give you one of these computers).
