Cleaning F&P HC200 Filter

I have not cleaned the filter on my F&P HC200 CPAP since I have had it--last Thanksgiving. I am on vacation and am having new sinus headaches. Can I wash the filter? Or am I supposed to find a store and buy a new filter?
I did not bring the intstruction book on vacation. Any other suggestions for cleaning?
