Heated humidifiers can put a lot more humidity in the air when the heat is turned on than any passive humidifier. However, the Oasis is the best passive humidifier, and it does fairly well. For people in somewhat humid enviroments it may be all that is needed. People in norther climes typically need more humidity during very dry winter heating season.
